Conflict resolution and negotiation include a set of skills that must be practiced to be learned. That is why teacher training and professional development are at the heart of Workable Peace. Our 3 day Teacher Training Institutes are the best way to prepare to use the Workable Peace curriculum in your classes, while also developing your own conflict management skills. In our Institutes, you will:
The training is hands-on and interactive, balancing the teaching of content, skills, and pedagogy, and generating new ideas and competencies that teachers can apply to all aspects of their work. There is also an explicit focus on implementation, as participants and Workable Peace staff discuss ways to integrate the new concepts and skills into their courses. All Institute attendees become members of the Workable Peace Teacher Network, and receive:

These 12 hour workshops provide:
Unlike 3-day Institutes, these Introductory Institutes can be scheduled during the academic school year without removing teachers from their classrooms for more than one day. They can even be arranged on a Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
Workable Peace occasionally offers Introductory Institutes in selected locations in the fall and spring. We are also available to set up individually tailored introductory Institutes for districts and schools.

Conflict Analysis Workshops
Workable Peace offers 2-3 hour interactive workshops that introduce a set of concepts and skills for understanding the causes of particular conflicts, as preparation for considering strategies to manage conflict. Specifically, a Conflict Analysis Workshop:
Workable Peace is available to present Conflict Analysis Workshops on a wide range on conflicts, from Ancient Greece to school politics and classroom management. These workshops are a good way to begin an exploration of the uses of Workable Peace.
We are also available to teach this workshop to secondary school students, and University pre-service and in-service teacher education programs.

Individualized Classroom Support
If you have attended one of our trainings and would like individualized and direct classroom support as you implement the Workable Peace curriculum, we are available to help.
Classroom Support is also available for educators who are interested in using a Workable Peace Role Play in their classrooms, who are unable to attend a training.
