You will conclude this unit with a final critical essay of 300 — 500 words evaluating:

• what you’ve learned about conflict in general;

• what you’ve learned about how you handle conflict specifically;

• the Workable Peace Framework;

• the Middle East role play set in Hebron.

Based on your experience over the last two weeks assess/analyze the lessons you have learned and the process through which you have learned them. In your assessment and analysis be sure not to spend much time and effort summarizing what occurred, any summary should be limited and concise. The bulk of your writing should be focused on deconstructing or "picking apart" your experience and examining aspects closely by asking questions and providing some responses/explanations to those questions. Do not feel handicapped by the lessons below, but rather use these questions as a starting point to get some of momentum in formulating your ideas in writing.

What you have learned about group conflict both theoretically and practically speaking?

• Evaluate the materials used (Framework, Tough-Soft-Smart) and the process (Hebron role play).

• Evaluate the outcome of the role play: Was an agreement reached? Was the agreement "fair" — did it meet the needs of all the groups? Did your group reach it too easily or was it too difficult?

• Evaluate your participation in the unit: what would you do differently next time in a role play? What would you do differently the next time you are handling a personal conflict?
